Fête Impériale 2016 – Vienna’s Summer Ball in Pictures

I’ve done a lot of fairytale-like things in my life, but dancing the waltz at the Vienna Summer Ball probably topped them all. For anyone looking to inject a little bit of Disney princess into their life, the Fête Impériale is a great way to go about doing it.

The grandeur of the Summer Riding School embellished with bright red Austrian motifs sent chills down my spine when I entered. It is so rare to partake in an event steeped in such tradition, especially when your home base is North America where everything is “new”.

I would love to describe it, minute by minute, but words cannot articulate just how lively, how opulent, and how colourful it was.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, these ones are worth even more thanks very much to Ballguide. This ingenious company exists to immortalize every breathtaking moment, every sparking scene, so that guests can focus on simply enjoying it. And we all know to well…nothing can spoil the moment like pulling out your cell phone and asking a stranger to take a photo that will turn out to be mediocre at best.

Best of all, Ballguide exists to tell you everything you need to know in advance of the event to prevent wardrobe faux pas or behavioural gaffes that will put a damper on the experience. It will give you a glympse of what to expect, how guests dressed in previous years, and logistic details to make you fit right in with the crowd.

So for the first time ever, I’m going to let the pictures do the talking.
